Big, huge, mucho thanks to the Spikedog....
2870 Cometh to Virginia
I remember when #2870 surfaced and K got it from a Daddy's Junky Music is New Hampshire...I've loved that guitar since then....killer amberburst over quilted maple and pointy headstock Charvie!!
The pups were changed out to zebra Duncan Custom and 59N by K I believe, and there is speculation that the 3-way switch and tone knob were added prior to K obtaining it.
But, for every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction....so my red Charvel #5174 is moving to New Hampshire.....it's a killer Charvel and will be missed.
This is and was my first, all original, non parts Charvel that I owned...I was hooked for ever after playing it....
5174 is a restoration that Bloodsplatter did...and it is simply amazing what was done. It started life as a Kahler, 2 hum, pointy w/ebony and Sharks w/matching headstock Charvie. At some point, somebody did a mod to change it to Floyd....ugh...then it went back to its original Kahler by Chuck.
It has its battle scars, but it is a KILLER playing and sounding Charvel....it rips and plays like buttah on speed...I think Spike will be pleasantly surprised with it...at least I truly hope Spike loves it as much as I do....but it's going to a good home....I've had my fun with it...time to pass on the mojo to somebody else...it's still in the family.
Here's some pics of what Spike is getting...some of these pics were Chuck's that he took when it lived in Boston...thanks bro...much appreciated....
I may have left out something or perhaps not quite right, I'm sure that Chuck can clarify more and add his comments if he so wishes...
Enjoy it Spike....play it hard, play it well, cherish it as I have bro
