Default Suggestions for hardware?

I am looking for some advice on what to purchase for hardware for recording. I have decided to go with garageband as my recording however I think a mixer to mic up my amps will be the next step. I have been looking at a few mixers but none add up. the only ones that do add up are the big honkin ones like the korg D 3200 I love the fact that there is an interactive drum machine built in however garageband can do that. I seem to be blinded by bells and whistles. I do not want a toneport is there like a mini mixer with fader bars and EQ and trimming that is avail with USB and balanced XLR, also has MIDI?
