Default Picking Roadblock

My left hand is sufficiently quick...at 45 years old, I'm still amazed I suffer no
pain, soreness, or anything to be concerned with.

I have worked on my right, though...the picking just kills my progress!
I'm thinking maybe I picked up some bad habits, it's as if I have a "chicken picken" speed trying to keep up with a left hand that is doing something twice as fast.

I do exercises, scales, cross picking, and gain no speed.
I even have gotten used to the Stylus to stop picking so hard.

Any suggestions to get back to basics?
I want to coordinate my right hand picking to what my left hand is doing on the fretboard.
