Default Ode to Inteli-Shred

I made a previous post about my new practice schedule and the binder concept, and referenced some of the material that I'm using in it.

I picked up a copy of Inteli-Shred by Kevin Dillard and he has a great product with a lot of good ideas for building technique and synchronizing the hands.

I'm not going to put a excerpt from Kevin's book here, as that would be fucked up to do to Kevin, but he has a picking exercise to work on both inside and outside picking exclusively. It sounds silly, but as "easy" as it looks, it is pretty difficult to do cleanly and in time with a metronome or drum machine.

At the peril of showing how truly bad I suck and need to get back where I want to be, I started out the exercises at 70 BPM using 16th notes, after a couple weeks of putting the time in on this and other exercises, I'm up to 90 BPM using 16th's cleanly both ascending and decending.

Speed Demon...not by a long shot....but I've improved ina relatively short period of time by consistent practice and putting the time in.

My ultimate goal for these exercises is 160....it gives me something to work towards.

Thanks to Kevin for making Inteli-Shred....or more aptly Endless Pain lol!!!
