My damned drummer just calls me after more or less disappearing for almost 2 weeks. He tells me he's bringing another guitar player and drummer over Thursday.
Ok, another guitar player is fine, but why a drummer? He's on another fantasy about wanting to sing. This guy CANNOT sing to save his life. He thinks he can, but he can't and quit frankly not exactly someone a band would want fronting them anyway.
A few years ago I put down a track and he wanted to sing. It was horrible! It was nasally and dude seemed to just talk the lyrics more than actually sing them.
When I played it back to him he agreed, it wasn't good. I guess I'm going to have to dig that shit out and play it for him again!
He told me today I just need to mix it to make it sound good. There's no way I could ever remove, there's no way ANYONE could ever remove, the elements that makes it bad.
After working our asses off for hours rearranging an old song he have he now says he's bored with drums and wants to sing. I have been as straight with him as possible and literally said, "you can't sing, you suck at it!"... Can't be more clear than that can I?
I don't know... I'm not expecting much from the guys he's bringing over because the last several people he's brought over couldn't even play. However, if they can and we hit it off and put something together where does that leave my friend?
