Default I need to vent for a minute...

I seriously need to bitch about work....

How in the hell am I supposed to do the job of 3 people during the busiest time of the year??? Granted to some selling 50 units in a month doesnt sound like much, but when your by yourself the biggest majority of the time, its nerveracking!!

I have to take care of credit apps, following up on WHY people couldnt get approved (could it be because this area has the highest poverty level and highest drug abuse???). On top of doing that and catching the phones, I have to make sure all the paperwork for each bank or lender is done, as well as the DMV paperwork.

The paperwork needs to be done before 11AM or my day is FUCKED!!

After noon, I have to make sure ALL crates are spraypainted with the stock# and make sure the floor units are tagged properly. Not to include that if any PDIs are turned into me without being filled out and signed, I have to jet back to service and get it done, PRONTO!! Phone rings and the caller wants to see if their special order part as came in?? You guessed it, the parts guys are "too fucking busy" to be bothered with the call, so I gotta find out if the parts were even fucking ordered, if they are in, or where they are....pain in the ass!!

Gotta take care of the new financing rates, make sure everybody knows what they are, and change any rebates. Stock in new units, make sure sold units are paid off...blah blah blah....and in my spare fucking time, make sure all the bills are paid and the deposits are done.

My normal workweek is Monday through Saturday 9 to 6 with a day off during the week. Not too bad, but since the other girl in the office is on maternity leave, and doesnt know if shes even coming back, the day off during the week is shot all to hell, and Im there no later than 20 after 8 and been known to be there til around 8ish.

The owner is cool as hell...love him to death, would do anything for him. His wife, thats another story. She likes to "chat"...all the time....I dont have time to sit around and chit chat. I got shit to do. She knows enough of the finance side to fuck shit up, so I spend alot of time fixing her fuckups and putting out needless fires. Shes there pretty much everyday except Fridays when she works at the hospital, and her computer and printer is the only one that can be used to print checks. How in the hell can I make sure the bills get paid when shes always in there on the phone?? Ive come to the point I just walk in and say "Okay Leta, I gotta pay shit, get out!!"

On top of taking care of all of that on a daily basis, we have ONE salesperson, other than the owner and his son. I sold a few when I first started, but once I started learning my shit about them, they put a stop to it. Im not a licensed salesperson, so I didnt get any $$ from Suzuki or Kawasaki, and they had to pay me commission instead of just a normal paycheck. After they started bitching about it, I stopped. If the phone rings and its a sales call, I page the Brain Trust salesperson, and if hes too stupid to answer it, oh fucking well....they can hang up and call Mountain Motorsports for all I care.

The salesperson is a fucking class act!! I hate him more and more everyday. Hes a crackhead, and so is his girlfriend, so therefore, their baby is.....the baby doesnt sleep, and hes walking around in a daze all the time, and takes an hour lunch, comes back after 2 hours or so, and claims he fell asleep...yeah, right. I have to follow behind him and make sure any credit apps he runs is done right. I shouldnt have to do that. He should be able to remember who is offering what rates on what. He should remember what units have what rebates. I dont post them on each unit, that would be a waste of time and engery. Once Suzuki and Kawasaki release their funding rates and rebates, I copy them and give them to Eric and the owner. The owner NEVER asks me twice about rates and rebates. But I have to pretty much shadow Eric to make sure he is quoting the right price. He doesnt need to be telling people what rate he can get them from what bank. He has no idea if their credit score is a 750 or a 450. And he drops the ball on people that "cant have good credit" because "shes holding a baby and smoking". So freaking what, stupid people can pay their bills on time. He basically tells them that they need to take a deal sheet to their own bank, because he wouldnt be able to get them financed through any of our sources. I caught that and almost went the fuck off. I told him he cant determine what kind of credit a person has just by looking at them.

To make a long story short, they didnt leave the shop and go to their own bank, instead I got them financed and they walked with an 08 Teryx with all the bells and whistles and an 08 360 Praire.

In between catching the phones and running credit apps, I have to find the time to run to the post office (thanks to Tia, I dont do that much anymore), pull invoices from Kawasaki and make sure they are posted. A lunch hour is pretty much shot to shit, although the owners wife demands I take an hour cause "shes gonna have to take out a loan just to pay my overtime".

Once the month ends (like now), I have to make sure the holdback is right, balance floorplan for 3 different flooring sources, make sure statements are mailed, and update all rates and rebates.

We HAD 5 guys working in the service dept, and the owner (Freddie) went off one day and fired one for never being on time, one wrecked a truck and crushed his arm, and the other wrecked a dirtbike and fucked up his ankle....needless to say, alot of warranty work wasnt getting done with just 2 guys back there and they would have to stop and put together units that had been sold while they were still in the crate, and heaven forbid me forget to paint the number on the crate, it would take them HOURS to find the right one.

The parts dept was short handed and slammed most of the time, so it turned into my job to make sure all shipments were stocked in and if they were special orders, the people were notified that their shit was there. That on top of what I normally do was enough!!

The owners son is over the parts dept and I finally caught him long enough to ask if he needed somebody else back there. Of course he did, and he couldnt deny it. So he hired my 17 year old daughter (Tia) to work in parts. Seemed like a good idea, he could show her how to use the computer program, and if she could take care of selling oil and filters, that sort of thing, it would take some of the stress off of him and Jake.

Well, shes been there a month and STILL cant log into the system. Instead, she keeps a cleaning rag in her hand and walks around the showroom and outside cleaning the bikes and ATVs. Thats all she does, that and when UPS and FedEx show up, she unpacks the boxes and checks off the stuff on the invoice to make sure its all there.

Ive been doing everything there by myself since May, and they FINALLY suggested showing Tia how to run credit apps to take some of the load off me. Thats all good and fine, but I got to take the time to slow down and show her how to do it. Shes only 17 and she doesnt understand the terminology I use. When I first mentioned floorplan to her, she was under the impression we were building a new showroom...honest mistake. She cant grasp what an MCO is, and when I start talking about rates, shes totally lost. But like I said, shes still a kid. She doesnt understand that if she doesnt follow up with the lenders, that the potential customers will walk. They arent gonna stick around for hours waiting for an answer, which more likely than not, will be no. She cant comprehend which lenders do what. I have one bank out in Utah that will do strictly cruisers, at 18.95% for 84 months. This doesnt change. But she doesnt understand why that bank doesnt change thier rates when others do. And Eric the salesperson, he cant understand ANY of it. I get so sick of repeating myself to him a bluemillion times a day. WRITE IT DOWN!!! REFER TO IT LATER!!! Jeeze, how hard can it be??

They have put Tia in charge of the website, so that takes a little off of me, but not alot. If I could get her to answer the phone and actually PAGE parts and service, life would be good, but instead she answers the phone, puts them on hold, and tells me who its for and asks me to page for her. If I had time to stop what I am doing to page, I have time to stop and answer the damn phone. Freddie really likes her being there, she makes coffee for him all day LOLOLOLOL.

Tias boyfriend Anthony is working there now full time until classes start this fall, then he works 3 1/2 days a week. That takes some stress off, hes decent and putting the bikes together, and so far as impressed the owner.

The owners wife was dead set and determined that Tia would not work in the office with me, that it would create problems. But after the past couple of weeks, when we would sell 6 or 7 units a day, shes having a change of heart, and decided it might be better to put her in there.

And Freddie, God love his heart, and decided he can in fact use the fax machine and he doesnt need me to do it for him

Eric has realized that he can use spraypaint just like I can!!! He knows when I write down the stock# which crate it goes on YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I went to the doc Tuesday and got some kick ass prescription diet pills, all I need now is some rollerskates and I'll be in business there!!! From the front office to the service dept in less than 10 seconds!!

Okay, Im done.

Im thankful today is the 4th and that we closed. But, like all good things, this will end tomorrow when I have to go into work around 8 instead of 9 to play catch up all over again.

Its a pity they wouldnt give me a key, I would be working right now....
