going blind

In the past year or so,my eye site has taken a RAPID decline.it actually started a few months before that.last Jan, i HAD to get glasses,already,they are not enough. I USED to be a high power rifle compeitior,and pretty fuckin good at it,(a 2 inch group at 300 yards ,open sites,ar15 rifle)now i can barely see the key board. I seems to me that all this started after i had to start taking MASSIVE doses of cholesterol meds( 850 overall,trigliserites over 2000!),and heart meds. yes i have talked to both my Docs about it,and always get the same answer,"you'r 45,it happens", what i can't get thru to them is that it gets worse DAILY!!!!!! the meds are a must,even with diet(extreame diet,you would not belive the pains my poor wife has to take to fiqure meals out for me). At this rate,i belive i will be totally blind within a year or so. several differant eye doctors,all said the same thing,(your 45 it happens),i can convinvce nobody that i am not being paranoid.
If any body has,or knows any one in a similar situation,please pass any advice my way.
