Please be on the look out for this person. She was shopping for earrings at Macys for Homecoming, and while trying on a several pairs she left one earing in her ear and walked out of the store. She was apprehinded and booked for shop lifting. The value of the item was $30 on sale for $15. so leaving with 1 of the earings retail total $7.50.
She was taken to the police station where her father (me) had to pick her up. A week later I was sent a bill for $350 by Macys for their time and trouble of catching public enemy #1. The court sent a bill for $175 to review the case and which she is to appear before a panel to determin how much community service she will serve.
I returned the Macys payment with a copy of my shreded charge card with a $3300 credit line. I thanked them for saving me from buying there for the holidays.
True, if you do the crime, you do the time. I would like to beleive she just spaced (she is blonde) and made a mistake. But getting biked by Macys is a pisser. There are stories on how people have been popped for stupid stuff that even has been shown on tape it was unintentional, they are still charged $$$.
chalk it up to lesson learned .....
