There's a show on Discovery channel called Time Warp. They use a high speed camera to slow things down.
On tonights show is Metallica. At 1000 to 2000 frames per second they show James breaking a couple guitars, Lars' cymbal crashes, Kirks strings while being played as well as other things.
Really cool stuff. Puts a new perspective on instruments.
