What makes us want to alter how we look by doing stuff to our skin? The first time I saw people altering their skin was in 1961. There was a group of kids at my middle class grade school that thought it was cool to use a pencil eraser to erase a 1 inch trough on the top of their hands. They would just keep erasing the skin until they had it right. I just wondered why. And this was an era when there was no worldwide anything but ABC,NBC and CBS on TV. Way before there was nothing more than our school. I was an old fart at the age of 11. I just don't get it.
