Custom Sandoval/Cervantes Double Neck

Double Neck Explorer Custom. Built by Karl Sandoval and Dave Cervantes in 1989.

12/6 String. Speed Racer Graphic over Sonic Blue color. Seymour Ducan Pickups. Both necks are, 59 neck, Jazz middle, JB bridge. Black hardware, 12 and 6 string tunamatic bridges,12 string bridge has individual intonation adjustments. Dual 5-way switches, Neck selector switch, 12, both, 6. Dual push-pull pots w/ capacitor coil cut. Master Volume and Tone controls. Recessed Straplock strap buttons. Body is chambered Basswood. Weight is exceptionally light. Balance is good. Both necks play great and adjust well. 6100 fretwire on 6. 6105 fretwire on 12. Necks are both 25 1/2" Scale, Rock Maple w/ Ebony Fingerboards and white position markers. Fingerboard radius is 22" to almost flat. Both 6 and 12 have great tone. Grover Tuners. Bone nuts. Both necks are bolt-on. Paint job is in good condition with a few small chips and cracks - basically the sort of wear and tear on the guitar that you'd expect on a guitar that has been played and gigged for many years. The Chris Compston graphic is in excellent condition. Black Hardshell Case. The body was made at the old B.C. Rich shop in South El Monte CA. (with permission from Bernie Rico Sr.) The necks were made at Karl's old shop in Paramount CA. Assembly and set-up were done at Dave's old shop in Hacienda Heights CA. This guitar has seen years of gigs and lots of good care. Karl built the original Polka dot V for Randy Rhoads. Dave designed and built the Drop 6 and Frank Gambale models for Yamaha.
