All I can say is that that 23 watt pencil made it easy. It must have been the wider tip. The solder melted right now. Sticking 3 wires wound was easy. I didn't melt the guts on any of the 3 pots. I use fluxed solder. I roughed up the backs of the pots. The bottom line is "More Power"
