That's capacitors.
Sure I can break in an old amp to fire it up,
but letting old electrolytic caps run like that is just asking for big trouble. Forget about can caps at 20 some each-the small caps work just fine, are underrated, and I tend to put in ratings way over what is called for. It's a life expectancy that increases exponentially.
Can't cheap out on some things.
I also put in 1 watt metal film resistors where a 1/4 watt would serve. Where I can, that is.
