Cygnus SEL#2, (build 3) is done.
It has room for an effects loop, but I think I will try out the switchable gain mod first.
If it works ok, it will be a 1/4" footswitch option.
I used a Hammond 125ESE output transformer on this one, but I yet to truly A/B it to the Webers I have been using.
It was a bit more pricey to build overall.
Mallory 150 tone and coupling caps, 99.9% metal film resistors, (I still use smaller 1/2 watt carbon fims in the preamp tube sockets), will build in an adjustment for the cathode bias.
Thinking about a B+ switch for a larger range of tubes.
I'm running a big bottle 6550 in it, it takes a 6V6 just fine.
I'll look into running an EL34 in it, just for kicks.
