Massive Volume, or Massive Tone?
No denying even a Silverface Fender can give off some great gain those amps aren't necessarily known for. Hendrix didn't have much of a problem squeezing every bit out of them.
So, in the quest...is it better to have a 100 watt rig pushing a ton of air, or a small amp pushed to the max sitting on a chair all mice'd up?
I saw Thorogood play Rich Stadium in Buffalo with a Fender Twin-mice'd...no way he didn't lack in "tone"-sustain out the door with no funny pedals.
What is your opinion?
