Default Crate BV120 tube question...help

Ok, so at last Fridays show I lose a preamp tube. So I had to go to GC to pick up replacements. I thought seeing as my amp gets played so often (2x per week for about 2-3 hours each time, plus shows) I'd just replace all 4. Found the bad one for sure, kept 3 for backups.

Recently I had bought a couple of power tubes while I had the money, thinking I would get the others later, just to have on hand "just in case" (matched set, groove tubes, same rating that came out of them). Today, while there and had the funds I thought hell with it, I'll just retube the whole thing and be done with it. I know I didn't have to replace the power tubes, they can last for years, but they have about 4 years on them and thought why not. Well, they didn't have 7's (rating) but they had 5's. The guy told me as long as I run one set on the outside sockets, and one set on the inside set it would be fine.

So, I put the 5's in the middle 2..and the 7's on the outside. I know next to nothing about tubes, amps and whatnot. I just don't wanna mess it up.

It sounds good, nothing looked out of whack...so will it be OK like that, or should I yank those 5's out and put the 7's back in?? Or do the 5's need to be on the outside? I kept the 4 I took out, because I know they are still ok. Emergency backups ya know.

Hope that made sense...

Oh..duh....the tubes that came out and the 7's are 6L6R's and the 5's are 6L6GE's (think)
