1,000 Dollar Bonus
I'm supposed to be getting a thousand dollar bursery for...well, whatever education the company wanted me to do. So, it's essentially a grand windfall.
I want a good tube head. Versatilty, no modelers, and I'm a tube guy.
I play in my garage, not a gigging musician...but that doesn't mean I never play out.
So, looking around, I was thinking of either a Crate BV60 used, looking...), or going with a Carvin X100B reissue (new). Anyone have any experience with either? I've seen people say the Carvin has a great clean sound, and medium drive (which is fine, I'm into old metal, not crushing distortion, really). But I've also seen where people say the Crate is good bang for the buck for drive and tone.
I'm running a 2X12 closed back (big box) Fender cabinet. I love the sound of that cab, so it's staying. Probably will stick V30's, or G12M's in it, just to see what kind of effect either will have.
Opinions? Any experience with these amps?
