OK...
I've been working with my binder this morning, adding to it and organizing it better into sub-catagories to get more out of my practice routine, and thought I'd share this with you.
This is a GREAT exercise that puts a lot of emphasis on both inside/outside picking, and if you
seriously put the time in, and use a drum-machine or metronome, you
WILL see positive results.
As with any exercise,
start slowly..if that means you start out at 80 BPM's and concentrate on the picking motion and left hand fingerings, you will improve.
Keep a record daily of what you start out at, and where you end (if any progress). Sometimes, you may be stuck at a certain tempo for DAYS then suddenly "break" the barrier and push through...sometimes I find it good to drop back to concentrate on your technique then build back up again...
This uses
STRICT alternate picking, don't cheat....this will solidify both your left hand and right hand, but you will only get out of this what you put into it...be honest with yourself...
Here it is, I am NOT saying where I got it from, but suffice it to say he is a well known and respected author/player/teacher.
